My Screen Recorder has specific recording profiles for each type of screen recording you will do. If you have a audio synchronization problem, switch to a different recording profile that is more appropriate for your scenario. Please click on Tools >> Settings >> Recording Format and choose 'WMV Text & Voice (High Resolution)'. The Text & Voice High Resolution should work well for your PowerPoint Presentation.

Your videos are saved in My Documents\My Recordings. You can make a copy or backup of your videos if they are important. To fix the error, I suggest uninstalling My Screen Recorder using the Windows Control Panel. Then download the latest version and install. You can download the program here: https://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?id=13

My Screen Recorder has an integrated video player. There are two methods to pause and start the playback. If you are viewing video within the My Screen Recorder window, you can simply use the Enter key to pause and start the playback. If you are playing the video on a full screen, use the Ctrl-P key combination to pause and start.

My Screen Recorder will record your Powerpoint presentation and also the webcam image on your screen. Here is an article that explains how to create a video from your Powerpoint presentation: https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/convert-powerpoint-to-video.aspx You can overlay your webcam image at any point while creating the video. The captions in your recorded video are not clickable.

There are quite a few different debuggers that could be installed on Windows XP. Disabling the debugger will allow you to run My Screen Recorder and other software. I'm not sure if this is the one you are encountering but the main debugger for the system can be disabled by opening Regedit and going to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AeDebug Then rename AeDebug to something else say, AeDebug_ or AeDebug- or AeDebug1. That will effectively disable the system debugger installed. This may include Dr. Watson or a third party debug tool. You can also turn off the Machine Debug Manager. It runs as a service and is loaded when your computer starts. Here are instructions on how to turn off Machine Debug Manager - In the Registry Editor, locate the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices In the right pane, right-click MDM7, click Delete, and then click OK to confirm the deletion. Note that the value for your version of the Machine Debug Manager may be different from MDM7.

When My Screen Recorder Pro is hidden during recording, it's icon is removed from the task bar. The icon is still visible in the icon system tray and you can double click it to restore My Screen Recorder Pro to your screen. Using the shortcut key for stop recording will also restore it to the screen. You can change the 'hide' function by clicking Tools >> Settings >> General. De-select the check box for 'Hide Application from Task Bar'

My Screen Recorder Pro can capture the screen continuously for a day. The size of the recording at the default settings is 540MB per hour, or 13GB per day. While there is no function to delete older recordings, you can schedule a simple command line to delete older files. Here is a batch command to delete files on a Windows PC. Forfiles -pC:\backup -s -m*.* -d-5 -c "cmd /c del /q @path" This will delete all files in my backup directory older than 5 days. To test it first, use this: Forfiles -pC:\backup -s -m*.* -d-5 -c "cmd /C Echo 0x22@Path@File0x22" This will print out each file that the command will be deleting.

My Screen Recorder Pro can save in AVI, WMV, MP4 and WebM format. To create a DVD, I suggest saving in WMV format and using our free software DVD Author Plus to burn the recording to a video DVD. The video DVD will play in any home DVD player. You can download My Screen Recorder Pro here: https://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?ID=21 You can download DVD Author Plus here: https://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?ID=31

During recording My Screen Recorder Pro uses space in a temporary folder. It sounds like you may be low on disk space on your temporary drive. Change the temporary recording folder by clicking Tools >> Settings >> General. Under the Temporary Working Folder heading choose a drive and folder with adequate space.

Thanks kindly for your help. I did find the sounds for mouse click or 'start navigation' - none of the sounds were that great so I found a mouse click sound file on the web and downloaded it. I did download the ClicKey file and it works great - thank you. Gail

My Screen Recorder Pro will record for as long as you have disk space - there is no limit from the software. A CD will hold a recording of about 3 hours using the default video profile. With the Pro version you can even create a self-playing executable to put on CD. We have an article that explains how to distribute self-playing executables: https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/msrpro_GenerateExecutables.aspx

The temporary recording files may be recoverable. Try renaming them to have an extension of '.wmv' and see if they will play in the My Screen Recorder media player. If they play but do not have the ability to seek forward or reverse, you can use Digital Media Converter Pro to repair the file. Click Tools >> Attempt to Repair File and it should re-index your recording.

This issue occurs when you are trying to record an older application that does not support Windows Vista or Windows 7 scaling. My Screen Recorder will record your older applications if you turn on the XP DPI scaling in Windows. Right click on the desktop, select 'Screen Resolution', then click 'Make text and other items larger or smaller'. Click 'Set Custom Text Size (DPI)' and check the box for 'Use Windows XP DPI Scaling'.

The default key for starting the recording is F8, and you can use the same key to pause recording. The default key to stop recording is F9. These keys can be customized to be any combination you like. Please see this page on Keyboard Shortcuts

Yes, My Screen Recorder Pro will record your screen and audio while you are drawing on it. There is a separate screen drawing tool that works very nicely with My Screen Recorder Pro. It allows you to use shapes, define pen color, width, and more. You can download the screen drawing tool here.

I suggest recording your screen as either 800x600 or 1024x768. These resolutions should fit when played back on a YouTube video. We have an article that has some tips on creating good screen recordings. If you are still having a problem with YouTube, you can try Video Desk. On Video Desk you can host your screen recordings without resizing or any advertising being added.

You can download Windows Media Player for the Mac. This will play the wmv screen recordings created by My Screen Recorder Pro. Here is a link to the Windows Media Player download: https://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/video/windowsmediaplayerformacosx.html Alternatively, you can also choose to record using the MP4 format, this file type will play directly in the Apple Quicktime Player. To change the recording type, click Tools >> Settings >> Format and select the MP4 profile.
