By default, My Screen Recorder uses the F8 key for record/pause, F9 for stop and F10 for abort. It seems that some other application is already using the F8 key. To change the keys: On the 'Tools' menu, click 'Settings' Select the 'Keyboard' tab Change to a function key of your choice. You can also combine the Ctrl, Alt and Shift keys with the function keys. Select 'None' from the drop-down boxed if you do not want to set any key. Click OK.

Flash is a vector-based format and a flash file size cannot be estimated accurately. WMV contains a sequence of highly-compressed images, which can be estimated to reasonable accuracy. In general, WMV, as implemented in My Screen Recorder Pro, will provide a significantly smaller file size. To reduce file size for SWF, make your screen-captures with the following settings: Use the classic Windows theme Do not use a wallpaper Record at 800x600 or 1024x768 pixels resolution Turn off windows animations like Fades and Scrolls

Open the AVI in Video Edit Magic and perform your editing. Use the Make Movie feature in Video Edit Magic and output to a new AVI file. You can use the convert feature in My Screen Recorder Pro to convert the new AVI to flash format.

You can setup My Screen Recorder on each PC and configure it to record directly to a common network folder. You can then view all the screen-recordings from a central location.

I'm glad you turned off hardware acceleration. This usually corrects most problems we choppy screen recodings. The latest version now has a new setting that automatically disables hardware acceleration when starting a screen recording and it is rest back when you have completed the recording. Here are the steps to use the automated hardware acceleration toggle feature: On the Tools menu, select Settings. Select the Performance tab. Check the option Disable Hardware acceleration during recording. Click OK. If you recording a video from Windows Media Player then you will need to also turn off video acceleration. The steps to turn off the video acceleration in Windows Media Player: In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click on Options. Select the Performance tab. Move the Video Acceleration Slider to None. Choppy video is a PC performance related issue. If the above settings did not help, here are a few things you can try to increase performance: Reduce the screen resolution of your monitor to 800x600 pixels or lower. Reduce the color depth of your monitor to 256 colors. If you are interested in recording a portion of the screen then try using Region recording or Window recording instead.

The system method was used in an older version of My Screen Recorder. Please download and install the latest version of My Screen Recorder from: https://www.deskshare.com/msr.aspx The new version automatically compensates for many synchronization problems. If you are still facing synchronization problems then you can try reducing the frame rate to 15 frames/second or less.

You need to turn off hardware acceleration to perform a screen-recording of a DVD playback. Apparently, WinDVD does not work when hardware acceleration is switched off. We have seen that Cyberlink's PowerDVD works even when hardware acceleration is turned off. Also, My Screen Recorder is able to record DVD played back by PowerDVD.

Thanks for the feedback/support. Very prompt. My Screen recorder Pro will be the way to go. As you say, the executable contains a buit in player. That will resolve a lot of possible issues I might have encountered as the avi file will be going to many different viewers and systems with different resolution settings. Thanks again. Appreciate the feedback. Regards. Big Al.

To produce high quality video, increase the Quality setting to 100%. My Screen Recorder does not support uncompressed video because of the overhead required to write huge amount of data onto the hard-drive during screen recording.

You can use the `Time-lapse' feature, available in My Screen Recorder Pro, to record video such that it plays back at higher speed. For example, to record a video at 5fps and play it back at 10fps, follow these steps: On the Tools menu, click Settings Select the AVI Video tab. Under Frame options, select `Time-lapse' Click `Time-lapse Setup' Under Record rate', specify 5 Frames per 1 second, which will make My Screen Recorder Pro' capture 5 frames in one second (5fps) In the `Playback rate' box, specify 10 frames/second Click OK Using these settings, you essentially playback a video file at twice its recorded frame rate, which doubles the videos playback speed. In other words, 10 frames are played back in 1 second instead of 5 frames. If you expect your screen to refresh 2 times in one second, then set the Record rate' at 2 Frames per 1 second. To playback this recorded video at, say, 2 times its actual speed, specify Playback Rate' as 4 frames per second.

You can record the audio that is part of the Powerpoint presentation. By default the Audio input is set to 'Microphone'. 'You have to setup the audio input to either the Mono Mix, Stereo Mix or the Line-in option, depending upon the system configuration you have. Try experimenting a bit with these three options to find out which works the best for you. Please refer to My Screen Recorder's article that discusses the entire process: https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/msr_convert_powerpoint_fordistribution.aspx

My Screen Recorder records audio from the selected audio input in Windows. As Windows allows you to select only one option, you will not be able to record from both the Microphone and your application simultaneously.
