Auto FTP Manager sends emails messages immediately upon completion of the automated transfer. Usually emails sent within the same domain are delivered the quickest, for example from your gmail account to another gmail account. When you send from gmail to an address on a Microsoft Exchange server there will be transmission delays depending on how busy the gmail and exchange server networks are. To speed up the email reception, try using the SMTP address on your Microsoft Exchange directly. This should deliver to your email account faster. Alternatively, you can send the notifications to another address on Gmail.

Auto FTP Manager allows you to transfer local files directly into a compressed zip folder. You can easily drag and drop files from your PC to the zip folder. [image: AFMpost6245.jpg] Auto FTP Manager lists compressed zip folders in the file manager. You can drag files from your source folder and drop it directly onto a zip folder. Once the file is transferred, double click on the zip folder. You will see that the file is successfully transferred. Note: To transfer files to the zip folder, the destination folder should be present locally on your PC.

Auto FTP Manager makes it easy to transfer files between two mobile devices directly from your computer. On both mobile devices, install the PC to Mobile Transfer application. Open the app and note down the ID and password shown on each of the devices. Auto FTP Manager allows you to save transfer report when a failure occurs. You can choose to generate the transfer report on specific events. To configure settings of the transfer report for your automated transfer profile, go to Profiles >> Edit Profile. On the ‘Specify Automated Transfer Settings’ page, select the Save or send transfer report option under the ‘On completion of transfer’ section and click the **Configure **button. [image: AFMpost6204.png] Then on ‘Transfer report settings’ dialog, select ‘When an automated transfer is completed’ option and choose ‘Save reports when there are file transfer failures’ option. Then you can choose the location to save transfer report, click Ok and finish the settings. [image: AFMpost6204-1.png] Now, whenever an automated transfer is completed, the transfer report will be generated only if there are file transfer failures.

Auto FTP Manager makes it easy to transfer files between PCs present on the same network. To transfer files between two PCs, first create a connection profile. Go to File >> New Connection Profile and select options from the dropdown to transfer files between PC folder and Remote PC folder. You can choose the connection profile type as Quick Connect or Automated Profile. Next, you will see the list of remote PCs present on the network. Select the remote PC from the list or if it is not present in the list then enter the IP address and password of the remote PC where you want to transfer files. You need to know the password shown on Settings screen of remote PC. Next, create the connection profile and finish the settings. Here, please make sure that the Auto FTP Manager is running and Remote Transfer is enabled on the remote PC. Once the settings are configured, click ‘Test Connection’ to verify the connection settings. Next, create the connection profile and finish the settings. [image: AFMpost6203.png] Once the profile is created, you will see the file manager where you can transfer the files between your PC and remote PC connected to the same network.

You can transfer files between your PC and android devices using Auto FTP Manager with Android application- PC To Mobile Transfer. First, install PC To Mobile Transfer on your Android device. Download this FREE application from the Google Play Store. To transfer files between your PC and mobile device, open the PC to Mobile Transfer app on your device, note down the ID and Password to use in Auto FTP Manager. [image: AFMpost6192-2.jpg] Then open Auto FTP Manager, go to File >> New Connection Profile. Create a connection profile to transfer files between your PC and your mobile device. [image: AFMpost6192.jpg] Now go to the next page, enter the mobile connection details and create the connection profile. [image: AFMpost6192-1.jpg] This way you can easily move your files between your PC and Android mobile device.

You can easily add the action rule to automatically rename files after successful transfer using Auto FTP Manager. Use the file rename rules to change the file name after upload. To add a rename rule for your automated transfer profile, go to Profiles >> Edit Profile. On the Edit Connection Profile dialog, check Rename files after transfer on <Folder 2> and click the Configure button. [image: AFMpost6186.jpg] On the ‘Configure Rename Rules’ dialog, click New to add a rename rule. Then select the rule to Add Date and Time to End and choose the Date and Time option from the ‘Format’ drop-down. Once the rename rule is added, finish the settings. [image: AFMpost6186-1.jpg] Now whenever an automated file transfer is successfully completed, the date and time will be appended to the file names on the target location. If multiple rename rules are added, each configured rule will be applied to the filename sequentially.

You can add a schedule to transfer files on weekdays and repeat the action every hour in Auto FTP Manager. To add a schedule, click Profiles >> Edit Profile and go to Automated Transfer Settings page. Click on the ‘Configure’ button under the ‘Schedule Transfers’ section. [image: AFMpost3618.jpg] Choose Weekly Schedule option and then select the days on which you want to perform file transfer. Then set Repeat after every option to ‘1 hour’ and select time duration for which the schedule should repeat. Click Ok to save the schedule and next to complete the profile settings. [image: AFMpost3618-1.jpg] The files will be transferred on the specified weekdays and the schedule will run every 1 hour.

You can sort the connection profiles and schedules in alphabetical order in Auto FTP Manager. Go to the Connection Profile panel shown at the left sidebar in Auto FTP Manager. Right click on Quick Connect, Automated Transfer profile or the Schedules section and select the option for Sort by Name. [image: AFMPost6168.jpg] All the profiles and schedules listed in the connection profile panel will appear in alphabetical order. This helps you to quickly search for connection profiles and schedules.

Auto FTP Manager can send notifications for every transfer or just for failed transfers. You can choose to save the transfer report on your local PC or a network drive, on a FTP server or to send it by Email. Lets assume you have a connection profile created. If you have not created a connection profile then refer the help file to see how to create an automated transfer profile. Next, you have to select an action rule to upload or download files. You will see the Save or Send Transfer Report option below the ‘On Completion of Transfer’ section. Configure the option to ‘Save report when an automated transfer has failures’. If you have to receive transfer report by e-mail then enter the email address and mail server details. You can verify the e-mail settings by clicking Send Test E-mail. [image: Transfer_Report_Settings.png] Whenever you start the automated transfer manually or on a schedule and a transfer failure occurs, you will receive the transfer report by e-mail.

Auto FTP Manager can watch a folder for new files. When new files are added in a PC folder, an automatic upload can be performed. The folder can be monitored for file creation, modification, rename and deletion. Lets assume you have a connection profile created. If you have not created a connection profile then refer the help file to see how to create an automated transfer profile. Now, you have to create a schedule. On Create Connection Profile dialog, go to Schedule Transfers section and click Configure. Then choose the On Folder Change schedule option and select the folder which you want to monitor for changes when new file is Created or Modified. You can also add a wait time after a file change is made with the help of Wait N minutes before starting transfer option. [image: AFMpost6131.jpg]

Auto FTP Manager automatically synchronizes the two folder locations so that they are always identical. The Scheduler will help you to maintain these folders regularly. Lets assume you have a connection profile created. If you have not created a connection profile then refer the help file to see how to create an automated transfer profile. Next, look for the Action rules section and Select the **Synchronize source and destination folder **option. This option will make sure that files present in both the folders are exactly the same. [image: AFMpost6109.jpg] Under the Schedule Transfers section, click the Configure button. Select the schedule type as Daily with a repeat interval of a few minutes or hours as required. Click Ok to save your settings. [image: AFMpost6109-1.jpg] The schedule will run after every N minutes / hours and the selected folders will be synchronized each time. If the files are not present in one folder then they will be transferred from the other.

Auto FTP Manager allows connection to FTP server through HTTP, FTP, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5 proxies. You can configure the proxy connection details from File >> Settings >> Proxy Server. Select the proxy option from the Connection type drop down list. The proxy setting your select here will apply to all connection profiles. [image: Settings_ProxyServer.png] You can also configure separate proxy connections for each connection profile by clicking on the Configure Proxy Settings link on the Create Connection Profile dialog. Auto FTP Manager has File and Folder Filters to exclude the specific folders during file transfer. This will allow you to select only the required folders for file transfer. First, you will have to create a connection profile. When you create the automated connection profile, go to Automated Transfer Settings >> File and Folder Filters >> Configure. On the Configure Filters dialog, check the option for Select folder to exclude and click on the Exclude Folders under the FTP server section. Select the folders from which you want to exclude from the transfer. Click OK to save the changes. [image: Exclude_subfolders.png] Whenever you start the automated transfer, the selected folders will be excluded from the transfer. The files will be downloaded only from the non-excluded folders.

The Transfer Log in Auto FTP Manager provides information about all events. It shows the Date-Time, Event and the Description of the respective event. The log events are divided into following categories: Command, Response, Status and Error. To view only error events, right click in the Transfer Log where log messages are generated and select Show Error Events option. [image: AFMpost6045.jpg] Now the Transfer Log will show only the error events that occurred during the file transfer process or connection.

Whenever you transfer a file from source to destination and the file is already present on the destination, then there is a conflict. Auto FTP Manager can resolve such conflicts easily with the help of Conflict Resolution rules. You can set the conflict resolution rules while creating the automated transfer profile. When creating the connection profile you can find the Conflict Resolution section on the Automated Transfer Settings page. Choose an option from the drop down list. If the file is already present on the server, you can overwrite the file or skip the file transfer. Auto FTP Manager has different conflict resolution options for date, time and size. Auto FTP Manager allows you to configure a proxy setting for each connection profile separately. You can configure the proxy setting when creating a connection profile. When creating a connection profile, click on the Configure Proxy Settings link. [image: FTP_details.png] On the Proxy Settings dialog, choose the Connection Type from the drop down list. You can select the socks 4 & 5, HTTP, or FTP proxy connection as needed. Click on the Auto Detect button to detect the Proxy settings configured in Internet Explorer. Auto FTP Manager can filter files based on the file size and then transfer the files which are smaller than the size you specify. To do this, first create an automated transfer profile. If you have already created the connection profile, right click on the profile name listed in the left side panel and select Edit Profile option. Move to the **Automated transfer settings **page. Click on the Configure button under the File and Folder Filters section. Select the File Size filter type. Set it to Include the file size less than 20 KB and click the Ok button. [image: AFMpost5981.jpg] Whenever you start the automated transfer, the files under 20KB will be transferred and the other files will be ignored.

In Auto FTP Manager, you can easily set any folder as a home folder directly from the file manager. The Home folder will be the source or destination for file transfer. After creating the transfer profile, open the File Manager list view. Right click on the required folder and select Set as Home Folder option. [image: AFMpost5957.jpg] Next, start the automated transfer. All your files will be transferred from or to the selected home folder. Using this method, you can quickly change the source or destination folder.

You can use the File Filters in Auto FTP Manager to upload only the files of specific extensions. To configure a filter, right click on the profile name in the left side panel and select the Edit Profile option. Go to the Automated Transfer settings page, click on the Configure button under the File and Folder Filters section. Select the File type filter option, choose the ‘.html’ file extension and click on the Include button. Save the changes. [image: AFMpost5933.jpg] Whenever you start the automated transfer, only the html files on the FTP folder will be updated. You can add more extensions to the list, if you want to include more file types. Further you can add a schedule to start the transfer process automatically at a specified time.
