When the Synchronize feature is invoked by a schedule, the Auto FTP manager will not prompt you. It performs tasks like overwriting files based on the Conflict Resolution rules specified by you at the time of creating or editing the Automated Transfer Profile. For more details about Conflict Resolution, you can refer to the following page: https://www.deskshare.com/help/afm/Conflictresolution.aspx Make sure that you are using the latest version of Auto FTP Manager. Please visit the URL: https://www.deskshare.com/afm.aspx for information about the latest features.

We have tested Auto FTP Manager on Pentium 4 with Hyper Threading, which simulates a dual processor. Therefore, Auto FTP Manager should not have a problem running on a Xeon processor. You may use the Association List in order to specify the file type to use for a particular extension. Auto FTP Manager already specifies some default settings that should be sufficient. This is possible if you correctly set the Action Rules (default settings should work). Synchronization will delete the remote file if a corresponding local file is not present and vice-versa.

You may have the Action Rule set to "Delete file from (local folder) After Transfer" for the condition when you "Transfer file from (local folder) To (remote folder)". Check the Action Rule you have set for Local and Remote folder synchronization. You can change the Action Rules by right clicking the profile that you are synchronizing and selecting Edit Profile]Transfer tab]Action Rules. For more information on Action rules, you may visit the help page on Action Rules

Auto FTP manager compares files present on the local and remote end by name, size and date. Synchronization is done by comparing the remote and local folder contents to determine which files need upload or download. ERROR: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. MEANING: This error usually occurs when an invalid host name/IP address or port number is specified in the profile properties for the FTP server. In such a case, it is recommended that the user verify the relevant connection details of the desired FTP server. ERROR: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or the established connection failed because the connected host has failed to respond. MEANING: This means "Connection timed out". This error usually occurs when no reply is obtained from the remote FTP server for the period specified by the user as the timeout period in the profile properties. If the internet connection speed is slow, then it is recommended that the user specify a greater timeout period. ERROR: No such host is known. MEANING: This error usually occurs when the DNS service is not accessible to the local host machine. ERROR: Any error with a numeric code at the start (Example: 530 Invalid userid/password.) MEANING:These errors are returned from the FTP server and the user needs to check out FTP account configuration at the remote FTP server.

Some FTP sites return file times as 00:00 for files older than a year. The problem is with the FTP site and not with Auto FTP Manager.

Auto FTP manager provides you an option of including or excluding specific files or folders for the transfer. The Include/Exclude list allows you to specify any files and/or folders from both local and server location.
