Auto FTP Manager version 5 connects to your FTP server with more than one connection. The multiple connections increase transfer speeds when you are transferring large numbers of files. It looks like your FTP server is blocking multiple connections. You can contact the administrator of the FTP server to allow multiple connections for your account, or you can configure Auto FTP Manager to use a single connection during transfers by clicking File >> Settings >> Connection and select 'Use 1 transfer channel when connecting to an FTP account'.

Auto FTP Manager can email the transfer log to multiple recipients simultaneously. Separate the email addresses with a comma, with no spaces. You can use the 'Send Test Email' button to make sure the email addresses are working.

The scheduling system in Auto FTP Manager is very flexible and you can easily set it to execute every xx number of minutes or hours. Highlight your schedule and click Profiles >> Edit Schedule. Where it says 'Run this Automated Profile' change the scheduling option to 'Custom Interval'. Change the Task Interval to minutes. Now you can set it to repeat the transfer task every 34 minutes.

Many FTP servers are configured to log you out after a minute or two of inactivity. In Auto FTP Manager, the Keep Alive setting will send a command to your FTP server so that it appears you are still active. Information about the options in Keep Alive are available in the help file here.

When you upgrade Auto FTP Manager, your profiles will be imported to the new version. This includes the quick connect profiles, automated transfer profiles, and schedules. It is also a good idea to back up your profiles regularly by clicking File >> Backup Profiles. Scheduled transfers will execute on the time that you specify. If the previous execution was not successful, it will continue to retry. Auto FTP Manager can alert you when a scheduled transfer has an error. Click File >> Settings >> Transfer Log. Select to 'Save transfer log when a failure occurs' and select 'Email'. More information about transfer logs is available here. In the current release, your scheduled profiles run as a service. The schedules will execute whether you are logged in to Windows or not.

Auto FTP Manager will run your scheduled profiles even when a user is not logged in to Windows. Simply create your Automated Transfer profile, then schedule it. You will be asked for a user name and password to log in as, and your schedules will execute on time. More information about scheduling profiles is available here.

Explicit SSL is also known as Auth SSL or Auth TLS. With explicit SSL, the default FTP server port is used, normally port 21. Both SSL and non-SSL connections can be made on this port. Auto FTP Manager will send a command to the FTP server to start the SSL connection. With Implicit SSL, the security is always on. A dedicated port, usually port 990, is used for secure connections. If you are installing a new FTP server, you can use either implicit or explicit SSL. If you choose implicit, you will need to assign a separate port number. Auto FTP Manager will auto-detect whether explicit SSL or implicit SSL is used on your FTP server.

It sounds like you have the software minimized to the system tray. On the bottom right of your screen, near the clock, you will see the Auto FTP Manager icon. Double click it to bring up the main screen. You can change the behavior of the minimize by selecting File >> Settings and then uncheck the box for 'On close minimize Auto FTP Manager to system tray.'

The current version of Auto FTP Manager does not have the ability to resume downloads in an automated transfer. You can resume the download manually in the Quick Connect File Manager. Thank you for the suggestion. The ability to resume downloads during automated transfers will be added to version 5. Your suggestion is very valuable to us, as we work to make Auto FTP Manager more useful.

Development of Auto FTP Manager 5 is taking longer than we expected. This is a major upgrade. There are many new features that need to be created properly and fully tested. At this point, we expect to release version 5 by the end of July.

To transfer all files whose names are test.* in an Automated Profile's Properties, on the Transfer Tab, click Filters >> File Name >> Include >> Files having names beginning with test.*. Next, click Modification Date >> I would like to include files that have changed today, then OK. This combination of filters will transfer all files whose names start with "test" and which have been created on the current date.

There are several possible reasons that this could happen. Something has changed, either on your PC or on the servers. The first thing to try is to delete the profiles and create them again. This would be a good time to upgrade to the latest version of Auto FTP Manager if you are using an older version. You can download the latest version here: https://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?ID=15 If you continue to have a problem, you need to check the network and your servers. Here are 2 things to check: Has something changed about your network or internet connection? Have read/write permissions been changed on your FTP servers?

The latest version already handles the schedule-related conflicts that you described. In the current version, a transfer profile will not start again until the previous session has been completed. Please upgrade to the latest version of Auto FTP Manager. You can download the current version here: https://www.deskshare.com/download_details.aspx?ID=15

To back up your profiles, including schedules, just click the Export button on the tool bar. A directory will be created containing all the profiles you choose to export. You can use Import to restore these profiles later, if necessary.

The behavior of the automated transfer is correct. In point 3, The program does not delete folders. If "Delete files after transfer" option is selected, only files are deleted during automated transfer process . Hence the original folder structure remains unchanged. In point 4: If we have some files within the folder then that folder will be created. For example if we have a folder "level 1" and a sub folder within it say "level 2" and now if "level 2" has some files within it then this folder structure will be created at your local drive, since it is required for copying the file from the ftp server.
