In the latest version of Auto FTP Manager you can delete or move files to a different folder after transferring. Edit your automated transfer profile, select the Transfer Rules tab and check the 'After Transfer' box. Choose move and click the location button to choose where to move the files.

Some FTP servers set the file's modification time to the time of uploading. For servers like yours, which do not, you can use a different FTP client (such as Auto FTP Manager). Auto FTP Manager always sets the file's modification time on the server when uploading.

The "550 Access Denied" message indicates that the account you are using on that server does not have permission to upload files. Your server administrator can correct this problem.

The simplest solution would be to increase the timeout value on the in the FTP server software itself. Often, the default timeout is very short.

If your log files follow a naming pattern, for instance ending in "*.log", you can exclude them from transfer using Filters. Edit the Automated Transfer Profile for each site, and switch to the Transfer tab. Click the Configure button for Filters. Check the checkbox for File Name, and choose to Exclude names "ending in" .log. Of course, you can adapt this if your log files use a different naming convention.

You will need to create a new automated transfer profile which will allow you to select and schedule your FTP transfers. To create a scheduled transfer, select File ] New Profile ] Automated Transfer Profile. Next, you will need to fill in all your FTP information. On the Transfer Tab you will see a filter option. You can set the filters to transfer files that have been modified today or within a given date range. You will also see a schedule option where you can set the time and dates to run this profile. For more information on filters you can see the following article: https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/afm_AdvancedFiltering.aspx

It seems like you are using a very old version of Auto FTP Manager. You have to delete old profiles and create new ones instead.

The simplest way to download the same file repeatedly is to use Auto FTP Manager's Record feature. First create a Quick Connect Profile for the FTP server and open it in the Quick Connect File Manager. Then, click the Record button (the green circle) that is between the two windows of the File Manager. Navigate to the correct folder on both your own PC and the FTP server, and simply drag the file from the server to your computer. After the transfer is complete, stop recording by clicking the Stop button (the flashing red circle that replaced the green one). You'll be prompted to name your new profile. The new profile now appears in the list of Automated Transfer Profiles. If you'd like this transfer to be repeated regularly (or just to schedule it to happen at a particular time), right-click on the new profile and choose "Schedule Profile ...". Instructions for scheduling a profile are here.

When upgrading to latest version all your profiles will be transferred automatically. There was a change in the Profile definitions in version 3.5. If you have an older version than 3.5 you will need to upgrade profiles using the Import Profiles feature of Auto FTP Manager. Only Quick Connect Profiles can be imported. All other profile types need to be re-created. Refer to the following page in the help guide: Importing Profiles You do not need to do anything before upgrading. All you have to do is run the setup. Exisiting versions automatically get unistalled when you install the upgrade.

This error means that the data port between you and the server to which you are trying to connect is not open (blocked or closed by your Router or Firewall) If you are using the Active mode of connection then open ports 20 and 21 in your router or firewall. If you are using the Passive mode of connection then open ports 21 and all ports above 1024. If you are still not able to connect then check all devices, like routers, between your computer and the server to see if the specified ports are open.

You can backup 100 sites provided they are in the same FTP server. In this case, you can create just one automation profile and specify the root FTP folder. Auto FTP Manager will recurse all sub-folders and create a backup. You can also use the include/ignore list to exclude folders and files you do not want to backup. If the sites are located on different FTP servers, then you must create more than one profile. Auto FTP Manager can handle up to 50 automation profiles and carry out up to 10 operations simultaneously.

For versions higher than 3.15, simply uninstall Auto FTP Manager and then re-install the new version to the same location. Your current profiles are automatically integrated into the newer version. If you are moving to a new PC, you must backup the profiles before uninstalling Auto FTP Manager. To backup the profiles, save the folder named "Data" and a file named "backupinfo.bkf". After re-installing, copy the data to the folder where you just installed Auto FTP Manager on your new PC.

When files are uploaded using FTP, they receive the date and time of the FTP server. Auto FTP Manager uses the FTP's MDTM command to set the file's correct date and time after accounting for Time Zone Difference. According to the standards, the MDTM command should get the modification date and time (and not set it). However, many FTP servers like WS_FTP support this useful extension. Windows Server 2003 has a basic FTP server that does not support this extension for the MDTM command. As a result, the uploaded files always get the date and time of the FTP server. Thus, synchronization based on date does not work. We have planned an approach to date-based synchronization that will eliminate Auto FTP Manager's need to rely on the MDTM command. We will include this in one of our future releases.
