    WebCam Monitor allows you to cycle the camera previews on a selected time interval. Each camera feed will be shown on the main application window. To configure the settings for cycle camera, go to the View menu and select the **Cycle Cameras **option. You can also configure the camera cycle from Settings. On the General settings tab, select the Cycle cameras every option and set the interval value from the drop down list. [image: WCMpost5771.jpg] For example, if you select 10 seconds from the dropdown list then you will see each camera on the main window for 10 seconds. In this way WebCam Monitor will automatically swap the cameras at a specified interval letting you keep an eye on all your cameras.

    WebCam Monitor can upload media files captured from a webcam to FTP server. You can set both PC's to upload to the same FTP server so you have all your media in one location. To upload media files to FTP server, go to the Quick Access panel and select the Upload Media Files option. On the Create FTP Account Profile dialog, enter the details to connect to the FTP server. Click the Browse button on the FTP Upload settings dialog to choose a folder location. [image: WCMpost5761.jpg] Configure both machines with the same FTP profile and the FTP Upload action for all the webcams. When you start the monitoring, the media files captured from both home and office webcams will be uploaded to the FTP server at the selected folder location.

    WebCam Monitor will automatically delete the oldest files from your PC if the space left on the drive is less than 2 GB. To delete older media files, click the Settings icon on the toolbar. On the General settings tab, look for the **Media file **options section. Set the disk space value in the Auto delete oldest files when space left on drive is less than N GB option. You can also select the Auto delete files older than option and enter the number of days to keep files. When this option is checked files older than specified number of days will be deleted. Click Ok to save these settings. [image: WCMpost5750.jpg] This way WebCam Monitor can automatically manage disk space and new recordings will be added. Note: Choose “Auto delete files older than N days” option only if you know that all the important files will be reviewed or copied to a new location within a specified number of days.

    WebCam Monitor allows you to perform a repetitive action, such as sending an email every hour, by using the regular interval monitoring action. To set this up, go to the Quick Access panel and select Regular intervals of ‘N’ minutes option. Set the interval value to 60 minutes and choose the Email Notifications action. Enter the email address, authentication and the other mail server details. Click the Ok button to save these settings. [image: WCMpost5739.jpg] Repeat these steps for each webcam. After configuring all webcams, click the Start Monitoring button from the Quick access panel. An email with a picture will be sent each hour from your 3 webcams.

    With WebCam Monitor you can watch the webcam preview on multiple PCs using the broadcasting feature. This feature allows you to broadcast the camera stream from your webcam and view it on other PCs. To configure settings for broadcasting the camera stream, right click on the camera preview and select the Start broadcasting option. When broadcasting starts, you will see a ‘Broadcasting URL’ in the event log viewer. Go to your other PC, and open the Broadcasting URL in VLC or Windows Media Player to view the camera stream. You can adjust the broadcast IP address and Port number from Edit Camera >> Broadcast tab. [image: ConfigureBroadcasting.png] Note: You will need to enter the correct broadcast url in the media player to view the live stream. Make sure your PC has a active network connection for this to work.

    WebCam Monitor can display multiple USB cameras simultaneously while you work on other tasks. To view multiple cameras at the same time, right click on the camera preview and select the Detach Camera option. You will now see the camera preview in a separate window. You can resize and adjust the position of this window. Next, right click on the detached window and select the Always on top option. This option allows you to see the camera preview on top of other running applications. [image: detached_preview.png] Repeat the same procedure for the other webcam. Place both previews in one half of the screen and you can use other half of the screen to do other work.

    You can capture and upload photos to FTP folder with WebCam Monitor. Using the FTP upload you can transfer video recordings and photos to a server and easily access them from a remote location, and share them with others. To configure the FTP upload, connect USB camera to your PC and open WebCam Monitor. Click on the Add Webcam icon on the toolbar. Your webcam will be listed in the camera model drop down and you should see the camera preview. Go to the Actions tab, choose either the motion detection or regular interval monitoring action. Next, select the Take Photo and Upload Media Files actions. Enter the FTP details required to connect to the FTP server such as FTP IP address, username and password. [image: WCMpost5704.jpg] After saving the FTP details, you will see the FTP upload settings. Click the Browse button to select the folder on the FTP server to upload captured photos.     Yes, WebCam Monitor allows you to change the video resolution for your USB camera. To configure the camera resolution, right click on the camera preview and select the **Edit Camera **option. Click on the Video Properties link. You will see a dialog which is specific to your particular webcam. You can change video resolution from this dialog. [image: WCMpost5684.jpg] Change the resolution value and click the OK button to save these changes. The resolution change will be reflected in the camera preview. As you can see for the Logitech C615, you can also adjust the frame rate and color depth. Different cameras may have additional controls.

    The watermark option in WebCam Monitor allows you to add a logo on the broadcast stream. Adding an image watermark is same as adding an image logo to the camera preview. To add the logo, right click on the camera preview and select the Edit Camera option. On the Labels tab, select the Include Watermark option and click the Browse button. Select your image file and click the OK button. The selected image will be shown in the Preview area. You can also adjust the image transparency level and rotate the image label if needed. When you open the broadcasting URL in Windows Media player, you will see the logo on the broadcast stream.

    You can hide the mask area from the camera preview in WebCam Monitor. To hide the mask area, right click on the camera preview and select the **Edit Camera **option. On the Mask Area tab, uncheck the Show mask area on camera preview option.     You can detach camera previews in WebCam Monitor and position them on the same or different monitors. This feature allows you to work with other applications while keeping an eye on your surveillance. To detach a camera preview, right click on the preview window and select Detach Camera. This will separate the window of the camera. You can resize and drag it to position anywhere on the same or a different monitor. [image: WCMpost5645.jpg] To keep detached windows on top of other running applications, right click the detached camera preview and select the Always on Top option. This will keep the camera window on top of all other applications. [image: detached_preview.png] Note: Detached window settings will not be saved when you close the application. You have to configure the settings again when you launch the application.

    WebCam Monitor allows you to rotate the camera preview by an angle of 1° to 359°. To flip the camera preview, right click on the camera preview and select the Edit Camera option. Tick the checkbox for 'Rotate video by' and enter the rotation angle value as 180 degrees. Save the setting by clicking on OK button.     In WebCam Monitor you can configure motion highlighting from the Motion Settings. To setup motion highlighting, right click on the camera preview and select ‘Edit Camera’. On the actions tab, click the ‘Motion Settings’ button. Select the checkbox to Highlight motion movements and choose a color from the drop down. Moving objects will be highlighted in the selected color on the camera preview as well as in Video Recordings and Photos.

    You can add a weekly schedule in WebCam Monitor to turn on broadcasting automatically. Open WebCam Monitor, connect your USB camera to PC and click on the ‘Add Webcam’ icon from the tool bar. Once the camera preview is shown, click on the OK button. [image: add-webcam.png] After adding your webcam, click on the Scheduler icon on the tool bar. Select the broadcasting action and a weekly schedule type. Choose Saturday and Sunday, enter the start date-time and number of hours to run the schedule. [image: WCMpost5599.jpg] The schedule will start automatically every week at a set time and the broadcast action will be turned on. It will run for the set number of hours on each day.

    You can exclude the photos from the email notifications in WebCam Monitor. To remove the photos from emails, click on the ‘Configure’ button for the Email Notification action from Quick Access. Uncheck the ‘Include photos with E-mail’ option under the Customize Email section. Save the settings. Note: This option is only available for motion detection monitoring. For regular interval monitoring, a photo will always be included.

    WebCam Monitor can use the secondary microphone from another device to record audio. An inexpensive microphone connected to the microphone jack will record the audio in your room. Connect the microphone to your PC and launch WebCam Monitor. If you have already added your USB camera, then right click on the camera preview and select the Edit camera option. On the Edit camera dialog, you will see this audio control: [image: audio-control.png] All recording devices on your PC will be listed in the Audio Device dropdown. Select the device you would like to record from and click on the play button to listen to the audio. Choose the microphone you have connected to the PC. Click the OK button to save the settings. When you start recording, both audio and video will be recorded.

    You can easily adjust the video recording duration in WebCam Monitor from the Video Recording Settings. To set the recording duration, click on the ‘Configure’ button for the video recording action from Quick access. [image: WCMpost5539.jpg] Select a higher value from the drop down list.     WebCam Monitor places a date-time label on photos to show the exact time when the image was captured. You can remove the date and time label if you don’t need it. Right click on the camera preview and select the ‘Edit Camera’ option. On the labels tab, uncheck the ‘Date and Time Stamp’ option and click the OK button. You can run the take photo action on motion detection or at regular intervals. The new photos captured will not contain the date-time label.

    To configure the IP address and broadcast port number in WebCam Monitor, use the 'Broadcast' tab on the Edit Camera dialog. When you start broadcasting your USB camera video, a broadcast url will be displayed on screen. You can use this URL to view the broadcast stream on another computer. You can watch the broadcast video from any machine that has an internet connection. Windows Media Player or VLC player is required to view the stream.     You can use WebCam Monitor's scheduler to automatically begin broadcasting during work hours. Add your webcam in the software and click on the ‘Scheduler’ icon on the tool bar. Select the broadcasting action, and select your camera. You can add a daily or weekly schedule as needed. Enter the start date and time and the number of hours to run the broadcasting action. For example, Monday through Friday, start time 9 AM and run the schedule for 8 hours. The schedule will run at the set time and broadcasting will be turned on for the selected camera.
