After some further investigation in turns out the reason for receiving the smtp errors was that I was blocking all outbound traffic to port 25 via virusscan. Disabling this solves the problem.

The noise occurs when you place the microphone next to the speakers. This is usually the case with a laptop. You can try muting the audio from Volume control. You will still be able to record audio from the microphone. We recommend the following settings: Use Video/Audio Recording and Take Snap Alerts. Configure upload so that WebCam Monitor can automatically upload files generated by alerts to an FTP folder. You can log into your FTP account and view the uploaded files when required. If the possibility of detecting motion or noise is low, you can configure WebCam Monitor to run alerts periodically. If the volume of files you are expecting to receive is low, you can also use the E-mail Notification Alert to e-mail you a snap.

We noticed that you are referring to the URL reported by WebCam Monitor as > https://80.168.225.1:0 In Tools >> Options >> Remote Monitoring >> Streaming, when you specify 0 as the port number (default) then WebCam Monitor should automatically select a non-zero port number for you. When you start live streaming, WebCam Monitor reports a URL in the log to which you must connect using either Internet Explorer or Windows Media Player. You can also click Start, click Run, specify the reported URL and click OK. If WebCam Monitor is actually reporting 0 as the port number then on the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Remote Monitoring tab and then click the Configure button under Streaming. Specify the port number and click OK. Try connected to the reported URL now.

If you are able to see the preview with WinTV card then you can use it for monitoring. The default settings of the Video/Audio Recording alert are set to Windows Media Video. This is ideal to record large amounts of video in a small space.

You might be facing this problem because the streamed video has higher bit-rate as compared to the internet speed available to you. If you are monitoring a live stream over the internet from your remote computer then select a profile with bit-rate lower than the internet connection speed available to either of the two computers. To select a different profile: On the Tools menu, click on Options. Click on the Remote Monitoring tab. Click Configure under Streaming and select the Profile from the drop down list provided.

To view files generated by motion detection select the Recordings tab. You can also switch between 5 different views in the Recordings tab. In addition, other functions can help users to manage their files from here. The Recordings tab also contains an address box where the user can type the path where the files are located. By default, this points to the path where WCM saves both Snaps and Videos. You can open these folders in Windows Explorer to view all files. You can sort the video and snaps on date to quickly look for video or snaps you want. When Webcam Monitor detects a motion, it triggers all selected Alerts. The Log displays the alerts that were triggered as a result of motion detection. If you had selected the Video/Audio Recording alert then you will find the video recording in the Recordings tab near the Log tab. In the same way, if you had selected the Take Snap alert then you will find images in the Recordings tab

Select a profile that has a bit-rate less than the internet connection speed available to your viewers. If you are getting an effective speed of 463.30Kbps then select any profile with bit-rate lower than this speed. We suggest that you test with 56Kbps, 128Kbps and 256Kbps profiles and see what works best for you. You can also choose to stream only video (without audio) to increase throughput. In general, for viewers with dial-up connections use a profile with bit-rate up to 28Kbps or 56Kbps. For broadband viewers, select a profile between 56 to 256Kbps.

To monitor silently, turn off the speakers if they are connected. This will also stop any echo you might be hearing. If you enable both video and audio, then you will be able to record and monitor both. To enable noise detection: On the Tools menu, click on Options. Select Noise Detection from under the Monitoring tab. Please make sure that the Enable Noise Detection option is checked. You can also configure the Noise Detection Delay and the Sensitivity.

First, make sure that you select Logitech QuickCam Pro 400 from the Video Devices list. To do so: If Monitoring is in progress then on the Monitor menu, click Stop Monitoring first. If a device is already in use then stop its preview. To do so, on the Monitor menu, click Stop Preview. Point to Video Devices box above the Preview window and select the required video device from the dropdown list. After the correct device is selected, turn off Date/Time Stamping. On the Tools menu, click Options. Under the General tab, uncheck the option "Add a Stamp on Video Recordings and Snaps". Click OK. Now try starting the device preview and monitoring.

First, make sure that you start streaming by pointing to the Tools menu and clicking Start Streaming. For streaming to work correctly, you must select a profile that streams videos at a bitrate less than the available bandwidth. For example, if you have a 56Kbps internet connection then a profile that streams videos at less than 56Kbps must be selected. You may also choose to stream only video (without audio) to save bandwidth required to stream audio. Refer to WebCam Monitor's help file for details on choosing an appropriate profile for streaming and for streaming only video or audio.
