WebCam Monitor can only monitor cameras directly connected to the PC, or Motion JPEG (MJPEG) streams. A camera connected to a different PC cannot be viewed using the software. Yes, you would need two licenses to install WebCam Monitor on two PCs.

A USB hub does not have the available bandwidth to simultaneously monitor multiple cameras. Your best bet is to plug each camera into an individual port on the computer itself, and use the hub for less bandwidth-intensive peripherals.

Caesar: To view a stream, you'll need to have sufficient bandwidth at both ends of the connection. That is, both the system running WebCam Monitor and the system that is viewing the stream need fast enough connections. If you're seeing slow streaming, with freezes, I would suggest you try lowering the bandwidth setting in WebCam Monitor. Open the Tools menu, and click Options. Switch to the Remote Monitoring tab, and click the Configure button for Streaming. There is a drop-down list of Profiles for live streaming. Select Video for dial-up modems (the lowest-bandwidth setting). If this solves your problem, you can experiment with higher-bandwidth profiles until you find a stable Profile that gives you consistent performance. Please be sure that you are using the latest Windows Media Player at both ends of the connection. You can download the current version of Windows Media Player from Microsoft.

You can now choose the position of the date/time stamp and text. Just download the current version of WebCam Monitor. To position the stamp, open the Tools menu and select Options. On the first tab of the Options window, check the Add a Date and Time on Video Recordings and Snaps checkbox, then click on the drop-down list next to this option and choose what part of the window you would like the stamp displayed in.

There are two places where you can find the complete list of supported IP cameras. The first method is in the software itself, when you add an IP camera you will see a complete list. The list is also included in the article Selecting a Security Camera. The cost to upgrade is only $29.95. You can upgrade from within WebCam Monitor by clicking on the Help menu, then Check for Upgrades.

If that option doesn't work, just black out the light with a marker or tape.

WebCam Monitor uploads files and connects to mail servers using built-in Windows functions. It does not have the ability to control a modem independently of Windows.

The problem is due the URL you have specified. You have to remove the "https://IP_ADDRESS:8080" part and give only "/Jpeg/CamImg.jpg". That should solve your problem.

Yes, you can use WebCam Monitor to view the web cam from other locations. You will have to configure your network firewall (if you have one) to make that information visible from outside, and you will need to know what address to connect to. We have published an article on the subject, which you can find here.

Yes you can capture from a TV tuner. WebCam Monitor allows you to stream from a TV tuner so that others can watch it remotely. However, changing the channel should be done from the TV tuner software.
