• Copy action settings from another IP camera

    In Security Monitor Pro you can copy the action settings from one camera to another. Click on Manage Camera icon on the tool bar. Select first camera and click on the Edit Camera button. On the Action tab, configure the actions to be performed on motion detection or at regular intervals. Now, select second camera from the Manage camera dialog and click on the Edit Camera button. On the actions tab, select the first camera in the ‘Copy action settings from:’ drop down list. Click on the Copy button, followed by the ‘Yes’ button on the ‘Confirm Copy of Action Settings’ message. [image: SMPpost5574.jpg] This will copy all the actions configured for first camera to the second camera. Repeat these steps for remaining cameras.

    In order to see the preview from the other channels of the video server, you will need to select the correct Axis video server model in Security Monitor Pro. Click on the Add camera option from the tool bar. Enter the camera IP address and connection information and select Axis as the brand, and the correct model from the dropdown list. When you select a camera model that is a video server, you will see and additional drop down list for ‘Display Camera:’. From the Display Camera list you can select the video server channel. Add the video server device multiple times, one for each channel you would like to preview.     Yes, Security Monitor Pro will capture the live audio from your USB camera along with the video. Connect the USB camera to your PC. Click on the ‘Add camera’ option from the tool bar, move to the ‘Webcam’ page. You will see the camera preview. Use the play button to test the audio from your webcam. Finally, click on the OK button to add the camera in the application.     Security Monitor Pro will automatically delete older files if the space left on the drive is less than 2 GB. You can change this value from General settings. In addition, you can also select the option to automatically delete the files which are older than ‘N’ days. Make sure that you review the videos within the specified number of days; otherwise the files will be deleted.     In Security Monitor Pro, you can backup all your camera settings and login details using the 'Export Cameras' option. To backup your cameras, go to the File menu and select 'Export Cameras' option. Enter the backup file name and select the cameras you want to backup. Once you create the backup file, you can use it to quickly add the cameras on another machine.     Security Monitor Pro can upload your recorded video files to a FTP server in your secure location. Set up a FTP server on the remote PC, and follow the instructions below to configure Security Monitor Pro to upload your recordings automatically as they are created. Edit your camera and configure the Upload Media Files action. Create a FTP account profile. You will need the FTP server address, username and password. You can choose to upload only photos or only videos or both. After uploading files to FTP server you can also delete those files from your PC.     In Security Monitor Pro you can easily add a watermark image to the camera preview. Adding a watermark is same as adding a logo to the camera preview. Right click on the camera preview and select Edit Camera option. On labels tab, select Include Watermark checkbox and add the logo image file. You can also adjust the image transparency level and rotate the image label. [image: SMPpost5478.jpg] Note that below 60% transparency, motion will not be detected behind the image watermark.

    You can hide the Security Monitor Pro from the PC screen and keep it running in background. To hide the application, go to the File menu and select the ‘Enable Hide Mode’ option. Set the hot key combination to hide and unhide the application from the PC screen. Remember this key combination and use it to switch between hidden and normal mode. In hidden mode, Security Monitor Pro will not appear in the taskbar or notification tray area.     Security Monitor Pro makes it very easy to run different actions on each camera. To configure the actions for a particular camera, right click on camera preview and select 'Edit Camera' option. On actions tab, choose the action you want to perform. Similarly configure actions for other cameras as well. Once you have the actions configured on multiple cameras, go to the 'Monitor' option on tool bar, select the cameras and start monitoring. You can also add a schedule to automate the monitoring process. This is useful when you are away from home. The scheduler is flexible and you can configure it to run at night, or on weekends.     Security Monitor Pro saves the video recordings with the camera name as the prefix of the file name. To change these settings, open 'Manage Cameras' dialog from the tool bar. Select the camera and click 'Edit Camera' button. On actions tab, look for Video Recording action and click on Configure button. Now uncheck the ‘Use camera name’ option and enter your desired prefix like 'Office camera', 'Garden Camera', etc. to the file name.     With Security Monitor Pro you can adjust the image size before uploading it to the FTP server. Open 'Manage Cameras' dialog from the tool bar. Select the camera you want to edit and click the 'Edit Camera' button. On Actions tab, check ‘Take Photo’, and ‘Upload Media File’ actions.     Security Monitor Pro allows you to add a delay between successive audio alarm events. To add a delay, select 'Manage camera' from the tool bar, then choose the camera and click on 'Edit Camera'. On the Actions tab, look for Audio Alarm Action and click on Configure button. Check the option for setting the wait interval between audio alarm events. Change the wait interval value from the drop down list to a maximum of 5 minutes. Once the wait interval is over it will invoke the alarm only if motion is detected. [image: SMPpost5417.jpg]

    You can use a schedule in Security Monitor Pro to record on motion detection during the daytime hours. Click on Add camera option from tool bar, enter all the camera details like IP address, username, password, brand and model. Make sure the recording action is selected on the actions tab. After adding camera, create a schedule to perform monitoring action. To create a schedule, click on the Scheduler icon on the toolbar. On the scheduling dialog, the monitoring action option is selected by default. You have to select your 3 cameras and enter the number of hours to run the schedule along with the start time. The scheduler will start motion detection monitoring at the time you selected. It will run for the specified number of hours. [image: SMPpost5406.jpg]

    You can use the scheduling function in Security Monitor Pro to start actions simultaneously on all cameras. Create a new schedule to perform video recording action. Select all the listed IP cameras on the ‘Add Schedule’ dialog. You can schedule the cameras to start actions one time, daily, weekly or monthly. Select the start time, date and enter the number of hours to run the schedule and click OK. The schedule will launch at the specified time and all the cameras will start recording.     Security Monitor Pro immediately sends out email notifications on motion detection. You can select multiple email address to receive this notification. To configure these settings, open 'Manage Cameras' from the tool bar. Select the camera and click 'Edit Camera'. On Actions Tab, look for 'Email notification' and click the 'Configure' button. [image: SMPpost5381.jpg] In the To field add all the email addresses separated by a comma (","). To make sure everyone on the list receives the email, click on the 'Send Test Email' button.     Security Monitor Pro detects and highlights the motion event on camera preview. To highlight detected motion on camera preview, select 'Manage camera' from tool bar, then choose the camera and click on 'Edit Camera'. On actions tab, click on 'Motion Settings' button.     Security Monitor Pro can automatically upload latest recorded video and photos to an FTP server by overwriting the older ones. To replace the older files with the newer ones, select 'Manage camera' from tool bar, then choose the camera and click on 'Edit Camera'. On Actions tab, select the regular intervals option and set it for 20 seconds. Now select and configure Take photo action. [image: SMPpost5361.jpg] On Photo Settings dialog, set the regular interval to ‘Take photo after every 1 second for next 1 second’, this will capture 1 frame after every 1 second. On the 'FTP upload settings' dialog, choose the FTP account and select the upload option as 'Upload Photos to my site'. Select rename photo files option.     Security Monitor Pro can run an alarm when there is a network failure. To configure this setting, click on the 'Settings' option on tool bar. In General tab, select the option ‘When network failure occurs, turn on audio alarm:’. You can also select duration to run the alarm from the drop down list.     Security Monitor Pro allows you to take snapshots from recorded videos. To take snapshots, open 'Media Analyzer' from tool bar. Select the camera for which you have recorded the videos. [image: SMPpost5337.jpg] Now select and start playing the recorded video from the list. Click on the 'Take Snapshot' icon to save an image of the running video. This image file will be saved and would be reflected in the list view.

    Security Monitor Pro provides detailed event logs which gives information about all occurring incidents. You can save and review the event logs later. You can also disable the event log entries from the settings. Click on the 'Settings' icon on tool bar. On Advanced settings tab, uncheck the ‘Enable Event Logging’ checkbox.
