    When reading a long text, you can easily return to the point where you left off by using Text Speaker's bookmarks feature. To add a bookmark click the position in the document where you left off, and click Edit >> Add Bookmark. Give the bookmark a name. You can add multiple bookmarks to your document and quickly return to the position at any time. To return to a bookmark, click Edit >> Go to Bookmark and choose a bookmark from the dropdown.     You can create outlines using Text Speaker. While reading your file, you can mark important sections of your e-book for outlining. Later, you can have Text Speaker read aloud the marked areas, or convert the marked text into an audio file. Select the text for audio outline and click Edit menu >> Outline Area. The outlined text is shown with a yellow background and is enclosed within the tags <OUTLINED> and </OUTLINED>. Convert the marked text to an audio file by clicking Speak menu >> Convert Outlined Text and you will have a file of your key points you can listen to on your iPod.

    Text Speaker allows you to have different voices read a document. Just select the part of the text you want in another voice, then go to the Edit menu and select 'Insert Voice Change'.     Yes, you can use the Talking Reminder feature in Text Speaker. You can repeat your reminders after some minutes, hours, days or years. Select a voice to read aloud the reminder and test how it sounds.     Yes, Text Speaker will allow you to include a background music track in your speech file. Several different formats are supported for background music files. Click on the 'Browse' button to select your music file and click 'Test' to listen to how it sounds. You can adjust the volume with the help of the slider.

    When you purchase Text Speaker and voices, you get a license number for Text Speaker and a separate serial number for the Professional Voices you are purchasing. You have to activate each voice separately with the correct serial number. The Text Speaker serial number will only activate Text Speaker. Log in to your DeskShare account and you can retrieve serial numbers for all the products you have purchased. The voice will be activated when you enter a valid serial number for the voice.

    Click File >> Open and open your PDF file in Text Speaker. Click on Speak and it will read it aloud to you. You can also highlight any text on your screen, in any program, and use the hotkey to speak the selected text. There is no cutting and pasting required.     Text Speaker may read a punctuation character as a word when it is preceded by a dash. You can change the pronunciation of the character combination by clicking Tools >> Pronunciation. Enter '-?' or whichever pronunciation you would like to change and replace the pronunciation with the silence character, a underscore '_'.     The activation is a one time procedure. You can log in as Administrator and activate Text Speaker. After activation, Text Speaker will work within the restricted account, activation will not be required again.
