• Adjust the length of the pause after a period or comma

    The default timing after a pause is a half second while after a period it is 1 second. Text Speaker allows you to enter a customized pause in your text. Click Edit >> Insert Pause. Use one of the predefined pauses from .25 seconds to 5 seconds or click on user defined and enter the amount of time you would like.

    Text Speaker will allow you to read a single document with different voices. Use the special voice tag to specify the voice you would like your text to be read in. For example, <voice required="name=Mike16"> will use the Mike voice until a new <voice required=""> tag is reached.     Text Speaker can export your audio in different quality levels of MP3 format. When you export to MP3 you are given a choice of settings. Try choosing the audio Setting "Very High Quality and Large Size". To avoid distortion, lower the volume level. Export again and you should have a clean MP3 file without any distortion. If you are an advanced user, you can also adjust the bitrate, frequency and number of channels to customize the exact output quality.     Text Speaker can highlight words as they are being spoken. You can set this option from the Application Settings. Click Tools Settings and make sure to check the box for 'Highlight word when reading'.     Text Speaker will automatically recognize your installed voices from AT&T. There is nothing required to enable the voices, simply click on the Voices button and select the voice on your system that you would like to use.

    The audio files created from professional voices are for personal use. Distribution of the file, such as on a website or part of an audio book requires a commercial license. The AT&T commercial licenses begin at $400 depending on the usage. Ivona commercial voice licenses are $299. Please contact us to purchase a commercial license.

    If you get an error during a large download, clearing your internet cache should fix the problem. Here is how to clear the cache on current browsers: Internet Explorer 8 From the Safety menu in the upper right, click Delete Browsing History... Deselect Preserve Favorites website data, and select Temporary Internet files, and History. Click Delete. Internet Explorer 7 From the Tools menu in the upper right, select Delete Browsing History. Next to "Temporary Internet Files", click Delete files.. Click Close, and then click OK to exit. Firefox 3.5 for Windows From the Tools menu, select Clear Recent History... From the Time range to clear: drop-down menu, select the desired range; to clear your entire cache, select Everything. Click the down arrow next to "Details" and select Cache. Click Clear Now. Firefox 3 for Windows From the Tools menu, select Clear Private Data... Select Cache. Click Clear Private Data Now.
