Security Monitor Pro supports over 1800 camera models. You can mix wired and wireless cameras on the same system. If your wireless cameras are on separate networks, you can monitor as many as your license will allow. If your wireless cameras are on the same network, I suggest using fewer than 4 wireless cameras. A wireless G network is 54MBps and a Wireless N network is 300Mbps. A typical IP camera at 640x480 and 30fps can easily take 7-10Mbps by itself. Factoring in TCP/IP retransmission from wireless network collisions, the effective bandwidth on the wireless network is significantly reduced.

The broadcast from Security Monitor Pro is a Windows Media stream. There are media players for almost every device to playback a Windows Media stream. On iOS devices, like your iPhone and iPad, you can use the free app named 'Streamer'. On Android devices, VX Player works well. On a remote PC, use Windows Media Player for Windows or for Mac OS. All of the players I mentioned can save a URL stream address. Yes, you will need to know the port number initially. You can then provide names for your streams, such as camera1 or main entrance.

Security Monitor Pro's media analyzer can playback video at slower and faster speeds. Here is the help page that shows how to control the playback speed: https://www.deskshare.com/help/smp/media-analyzer.aspx

Security Monitor Pro will playback recordings individually from the Media Analyzer. All the recordings are created in WMV format. If you need to playback two videos side by side, you can use two instances of Windows Media Classic Player, each one playing back one of your recordings. If you recording two cameras for demonstration purposes, or you need both cameras displayed in a single recording, I suggest using My Screen Recorder Pro to capture the previews from the screen.

Yes, you can configure your Dropbox to sync from the Security Monitor Pro recording folder. The default folder location is Documents/Security Monitor Pro/Media. Each camera has a separate folder. You can select to sync the entire media folder or just individual camera recordings.

Security Monitor Pro buffers all the video from your cameras. The temporary working folder is used for the buffered files and for recordings that are not yet completed. When there is no further motion, the recording file is completed and placed in your recording folder or sent via FTP if you have selected the FTP feature. Your PC must be ON and Security Monitor Pro needs to be running for monitoring and recording to work. A schedule will launch Security Monitor Pro if it is not running. Again, the PC must be on for the schedule to start.

Security Monitor Pro will work inside Terminal Server, but it is not recommended. The issue you describe is because of user account permissions. Run the installation again as an administrator, then restore the cameras. This will make the cameras accessible for the other user accounts that login.

When you enable broadcasting, Security Monitor Pro will broadcast on the local 192.168.x.x IP address. The address along with the port number is listed in the log window at the bottom of the screen when you begin broadcasting. Use the internal link on your local network and there will be no external bandwidth usage.

The Security Monitor Pro broadcast can be viewed using Windows Media Player When the Chrome browser detects that you're missing a plug-in for the code you have, it should prompt you to install the plug-in at the top of the webpage. Here's more information about installing Windows Media Player plug-in for Chrome.

Security Monitor Pro allows you to upload video recordings and photos automatically. You can upload either Photos, Video or both when alerts are triggered, depending on the option selected. Security Monitor Pro provides extra security by supporting three different protocols (FTP, FTPS, SFTP) to use while uploading videos and photos. By default the recordings are uploaded immediately, you can also configure a schedule. Here is more information about configuring motion detected recordings to your website by FTP

Using mms:// will instruct the Internet Explorer browser to start Windows Media Player. On an Android phone you can use almost any media player and enter the network stream. For example with VPlayer, click streams and select 'Network Stream'. You can enter the network stream as 'mms://[ip.address]:[port]/' or 'https://[ip.address]:[port]/' This is similar for iPhone with the free app called 'Streamer'. Most media players automatically recognize the stream. Inside Windows Media Player, you will need to use 'https://[ip.address]:[port]/'. For use on the Internet, you will also need to map a port in your router. More information about mapping ports is available here: https://www.deskshare.com/resources/articles/wcm_Internet_Streaming.aspx

To use Security Monitor Pro with 32 IP cameras simultaneously, you will need adequate CPU processing, RAM, and bandwidth. I suggest a Core i7-3770 CPU or better and at least 16GB of RAM. The bandwidth required depends on the type of cameras you are using. A HD camera can use from 200Kbit/sec to 3MBits/sec of bandwidth. Selecting a medium resolution, one that produces a 800Kbit/sec stream, leads to a estimated 24Mbit/sec of data for 32 IP cameras. If your cameras are all in remote locations, it is possible to support this level of bandwidth on some cable networks or using Verizon's FIOS service. If the cameras are within your own network, try to use wired cameras. Wireless network are subject to greater interference and data collision which require retransmission - greatly slowing down processing.

Security Monitor Pro allows you to preview and monitor up to 32 cameras simultaneously. You do not need to have them all displayed on the screen at the same time. The camera preview layout will allow you display 8 previews on your screen and then automatically rotate in sets of 8 at a time. Set the Cycle rate in the general settings to control the number of seconds for the cycle time. Use drag and drop to rearrange the order of the cameras.

The Security Monitor Pro schedules can be used when you only want to monitor during specific times. For example, if you have a full staff in the warehouse during working hours and only want to monitor and record when the warehouse is closed. In the case of recording or monitoring all the time, simply click on the record or start monitoring buttons. If Security Monitor Pro is restarted it will resume the state it was previously in - monitoring or recording from the cameras you specified. You do not need to set a schedule.

Security Monitor Pro can capture video and images at high resolution from your USB cameras. For the Logitech 9000 Pro USB camera, make sure you have the latest Logitech drivers. Add your USB camera to Security Monitor Pro, and under the Test Camera button, click on Video Properties. This will display Logitech camera controls for frame rate and output resolution. Set the resolution to 800x600 and click OK. When you return to Security Monitor Pro your preview resolution will be 800x600 and your captured photos will have the same resolution.

Thank you for the kind words about Security Monitor Pro. There are a few things you can do to increase the capture rate. First, lower the resolution you are capturing. A reduction from 640x480 to 320x240 cuts the bandwidth usage by 75%. Next, adjust the the wireless protocol to use the most reliable protocol for that distance. This will require some experimentation. Possibly wireless G at a fixed 2mbps speed will give you the best throughput. Finally, you can get a faster or more long range router. The Linksys/Cisco i4200 or i4500 routers give a long range at high speeds. Finally, try adding a external high dbi gain antenna to both the router and camera.

There are a few ways you can monitor your cameras remotely from a iPhone or iPad. Upload your recordings to a server or to dropbox. There are media players for almost every device and OS available. On the iPhone you can use the app 'Streamer' or the app 'WMV Player' to view the recordings and to view the Security Monitor Pro camera broadcasts. Turn on video Broadcasting, and use the same iPhone apps to view the broadcast. Create a bookmark for easy access to the video stream. Use Email notification. You can receive instant notifications to your cell phone and even have pictures along with the alert. We have an article that explains the different ways to view your camera remotely.

Security Monitor Pro records in the .wmv format which provides good quality video with a minimum of space. There are wmv media players for almost every device and OS available. On the iPhone you can use the app 'Streamer' or the app 'WMV Player' to view the recordings and to view the Security Monitor Pro camera broadcasts. Also, using the automated upload to an online service is an excellent way to keep your recordings safe offsite from the server.
