You want to capture an image every 1 second between certain hours of the day. There are a couple of ways to accomplish this in Security Monitor Pro. If there is constant motion in front of your camera, you can select to take photos when motion is detected. Configure it to take a photo every 1 second for the next 60 seconds. As long as there is motion, you will have a image taken every 1 second. If you are using regular interval monitoring instead of motion detection, the minimum time interval available is 15 seconds. The actions will be performed after every 15 seconds. So there will be a gap of 15 seconds. To avoid any gaps, I suggest you perform continuous video recording for your time frame. You can select Video Recording action from Add Schedule dialog. [image: add_schedule.png] To have a schedule to run from Monday to Friday select Weekly Schedule and select days from Monday to Friday. Enter the start date and time as 7:45, and the hours to Run for. In your case you can enter "Run For: 9:30".

Yes, Security Monitor Pro will monitor and record from IP cameras on remote networks or on the internet. To record from a remote camera, use the IP or Dyndns address and the port number to connect to the camera. To record from older CCTV devices, use a Video Server. The Video Server will convert the CCTV signal to appear as an IP camera. A list of supported devices are available on this page: https://www.deskshare.com/ip-cameras-manufacturers-models.aspx. Please search for Video Servers on the page.

Yes, Security Monitor Pro will capture audio from many camera models. After adding your camera, if it supports MPEG-4/H.264 then the RTSP port number box will be visible. Make sure you enter the correct RTSP port number. Please see this page for more details on adding an IP camera: https://www.deskshare.com/help/smp/adding-ip-camera.aspx If RTSP Port number is not visible, then your camera does not support audio. Please fill out the form on this page and we will add audio support for your camera to Security Monitor Pro: https://www.deskshare.com/camera-request.aspx

There are two ways to select the resolution. First, you can check the resolution from camera settings. It is possible that you have set a low resolution value. Alternatively, you edit the camera details. Change the video resolution from 'camera default' to the resolution you would like. Here is an illustration of the edit camera screen: [image: add_IP_camera.png] If you are unable to select a resolution or the resolution you want is not listed, would you be willing to give us the necessary information to test the camera? After testing we can add the resolutions you are looking for. To submit your camera, please fill out the camera request page.

To confirm the problem you are having - whenever there is motion in front of your camera you see a pixelated video. This can usually be fixed by matching the frame rate and bandwidth to what you have available on your remote and local network. It looks like the camera is located at a remote warehouse, and you are monitoring it from your DSL or cable connection at your home. I logged in to your camera and I saw that the frame rate and the bandwidth settings on the camera was too high. I adjusted the settings of your camera to match it more accurately with the network bandwidth. The frame rate was reduced from 15 to 7.5 fps. The bandwidth reduced from 1mbps to 512kbps. I have tested from my office, and the recordings now appear very clear at all time, including when there is motion.

You can play the mms stream using VLC or Flip4Mac, or install the Windows Media Components in Quicktime. Once you have either product installed, you can enter the following in your browser: mms://ipaddress:port/ You will get a prompt to use VLC, Flip4Mac, or Quicktime to open the stream. Make your selection and the stream should start to play after a few seconds of buffering.

Turning on broadcasting in Security Monitor Pro will allow you to view your cameras on a PC, iOS, or Android device using any player that supports a Windows Media stream. Here is more information on broadcasting your cameras: https://www.deskshare.com/help/smp/live-broadcast.aspx To view your cameras on iOS you can use the free app 'Streamer', and on Android 'Vplayer' and many other media players will work. If you would like a web interface, you can create a web page on your server and Security Monitor Pro can upload live images. We have another post with sample code for the web page.

One other possibility is that you might have entered the wrong HTTP port number. The Pan/Tilt commands need the correct HTTP port number to work.

Yes, Security Monitor Pro supports custom camera preview layouts. You can right click on each preview and select 'detach'. You can then move each of the preview screens to any position on your monitor and resize it. In effect, you can create any layout you like. When you exit and restart Security Monitor Pro, it will remember the previous positions of your preview windows. You can configure your PC to restart after a power failure from your BIOS settings. After Windows is reloaded, use the software 'TweakUI' to log in automatically. In Security Monitor Pro, click Tools > Application Settings > General. Check the box for 'When Windows starts, launch Security Monitor Pro'. I also suggest selecting the box for 'When Security Monitor Pro launches, restart the previously running actions'. This procedure will recover your monitoring after a power loss or power cycle.

You can have Security Monitor Pro on your PC and view the live broadcast on your Mac book. There are 3 options - Install the Windows Media Player for Mac, use VLC player for Mac, or use Flip4Mac with Quicktime. From within any of those media players you can connect to a network stream and use the URL given in the Security Monitor Pro log window when you turn on broadcasting.
