Auto FTP Manager can email the transfer log to you, save it on your PC or network, or FTP the log file to a server. You can also choose to email the log on every transfer - or only when an error occurs. You can find information on the available transfer log settings settings here: https://www.deskshare.com/help/AFM/TransferLogSettings.aspx

You can accomplish this in Auto FTP Manager by starting your transfer from within the folder. Edit your profile, and use the browse button to select the folder level to start from. If you have only a single folder with files you would like to transfer, you can select 'Startup FTP Folder'. If you have a more than one folder you would like to do this with, you can create more than one Automated Transfer, each beginning in a different startup folder.

How much disk space will recording 2 cameras take?

It is easy to calculate the amount of space needed for recordings. Security Monitor Pro records at a default of 250Kbs. Converted to bytes this is 31kbytes per second or 1.86Mbytes per minute or 111Mbytes per hour. To record for 8 hours a day you will use about 1Gbyte per camera. Or about 8Gbytes per week for the 2 cameras on your 4 day schedule. A terabyte hard drive will hold about 2 years of recordings for you.

Digital Media Converter Pro can convert a VCD video, extracting just the audio to a MP3 file. Simply add your file to Digital Media Converter, click 'Select Format' and choose the tab for Audio Formats. Select the MP3 audio format and perform your conversion.

In Auto FTP Manager, you can use any valid network path for your local PC. For example, if your PC is named Server-01 and you would like to transfer files from the 'videos' share, simply edit your profile, and enter '\server-01\videos' in the drive path. You can click on the browse button to select a different path. More information about setting the path can be found here: https://www.deskshare.com/help/AFM/StepI-SourceFolder_quick.aspx

Reducing delay to get real time streaming / broadcasting

There is always going to be some delay between what is seen on the camera to what is seen on the remote PC. WebCam Monitor captures from your webcam and broadcasts the stream as quickly as your PC is able to. Having a fast PC helps reduce delay. Much of the delay is introduced by the Windows Media Player on your PC, you can reduce this. Start your Windows Media Player, click Tools >> Options >> Performance and reduce the buffer time to 0 seconds. This should give you a more 'real-time' view.
