Auto FTP Manager will automatically switch based on the file being transferred if you are connecting to a Unix FTP server. Transfers to Windows FTP servers are generally in all binary mode. You can change the transfer mode manually. Click File > Settings > Transfer Mode. Change the mode from Auto to Ascii or Binary.
