My camcorder makes .MOD files, how do I convert them?

I just bought a JVC camcorder. It uses the .MOD file format (and I don't like the software that came with the camera). I can't figure out how to add the .MOD files to Digital Media Converter. Are these files supported?

You can rename the .MOD file to .MPG and then add it to Digital Media Converter for conversion.
