Recording from speakers on a Dell PC in Vista and Windows 7

I have been having trouble recording from speakers on my Dell PC - and I spent hours on tech support with Dell with no results. I finally found a solution, and I would like to post it to help some of the other Dell owners that are having this problem.

The work around is as follows:

Download XP version of Sigmatel driver R17189.exe
Run to expand but do not install.
Go to the expanded folder and right click on setup.exe and change compatibility to XP SP3
Then double click on setup.exe

I now have a "Stereo Mix" and My Screen Recorder Pro records from speakers.
