Conversion speed from DVD to WMV

I am trying to convert from a dvd to wmv file. It took nearly 5 hrs to convert a 2hr dvd. I have a Pentium 4 1.6 ghz processor. Would a faster proceesor make a big difference or is this the usual time for conversion. Also are there any setting on software to speed up process?

Conversion is a very CPU intensive process. A faster processor will certainly make a big difference when converting media files. More memory will also make a difference. Digital Media Converter also works on 64-bit processors.
