You need to turn off hardware acceleration to perform a screen-recording of a DVD playback. Apparently, WinDVD does not work when hardware acceleration is switched off. We have seen that Cyberlink's PowerDVD works even when hardware acceleration is turned off. Also, My Screen Recorder is able to record DVD played back by PowerDVD.

By default, My Screen Recorder captures audio from the microphone. To capture audio from another application, please do the following: In My Screen Recorder, on the Tool bar point on Settings and select Audio. Click on the Configure button. If you want to narrate with the recording, select Record from Microphone. To record the application's audio, select Record from Speakers. Click on Auto Select to let My Screen Recorder choose the best line for you. While using the Auto-Select option, it is recommended that you disconnect the microphone. To choose manually, select the Let me select the line option.
