Get spoken reminders even when Text Speaker is closed

I work from home and although I am not always in front of my PC, the PC is always on. I would like to use Text Speaker to give me spoken reminders when I have to take my medication and when it is time to pick up the kids from school. If I create a schedule will I still get reminders even if Text Speaker is not running?

A reminder in Text Speaker will run at the scheduled time, even if Text Speaker is not running. In this way, a reminder will help you avoid missing important tasks you need to do.

To schedule a reminder, select the start date, the time and enter a message. The message will be read aloud when the scheduled reminder launches.
