Other codecs in My Screen Recorder

For some reason the only codecs that My Screen Recorder lists are Microsoft Video 1 and Indeo video 5.1. Would you recommend a different codec, and how can I get it? I downloaded and reinstalled Windows Media Player 11 thinking that would update my codecs, but it doesn't show anything different. How would I get the ones you say work the best with "My Screen Recorder."

My Screen Recorder will only list certain codecs that we know are appropriate for recording. If you install other codecs, they will not be added to the list of available codecs in My Screen Recorder.

We recommend Microsoft Video 1 at the default settings.
