<p dir="auto">When I enter the settings, the program displays an error message during testing.  I have tried port 25 and 857.</p>
<p dir="auto">The error is 'A connection attempt failed.'  I'm sure that the password is correct.</p>

<p dir="auto">With Hotmail, use the smtp server is <a href="http://smtp.live.com" rel="nofollow ugc">smtp.live.com</a>, and you can use port 587.  Make sure to turn on 'this server requires a secure connection'.</p>
