I just cannot seem to get the test email to work. I am connected to the net via a 1 Mbps cable connection, and I am using the email address and password given to me by my ISP. I have also added port 25 the list of open ports (a friend told me that 25 needed to be open for SMTP).

Still I cannot send the email though. Not quite sure what to do next, any ideas?

Thanks for the help!

The new version contains enhanced help messages when you try to send a test e-mail. It also gives you an option to view an e-mail log so you can quickly find the problem.

Some of the problems that you can diagnose by viewing the e-mail log are:

Outgoing Mail Server User Name and Password authentication.

Invalid or misspelled Mail Server name and IP addresses.

Send e-mail denied due to blocked IP addresses.

Blocked relay ports on mail servers.

Instead, they provide you with their own outgoing e-mail server to send out e-mails. You need to specify this e-mail server in WebCam Monitor. To do so, click "Configure SMTP Server" on the E-mail Notification Alert settings screen.

If you have Outlook configured correctly then you can refer to these settings.
