When I try to convert, I receive a message in Conversion status: "Aborted. Source file cannot be read or is corrupt." However, I am able to convert the AVI files to MOV.</p>
<p dir="auto">I am using Windows XP and have DirectX version 9.0 and Windows Media Player 9.0.</p>

This will repair any anomalies present in your file.<br />
To repair your file:</p>
<ol>
<li>On the Tools menu, click Attempt to Repair File...</li>
<li>Click Browse to specify the file you want to repair. If a file is selected in the conversion list then that file, by default, is specified as the source file.</li>
<li>Click Browse to specify the Destination File where the repaired file would be saved.</li>
<li>Click Next to repair the file.</li>
<li>To add the repaired file to the conversion list make sure that the Add repaired file to the conversion list option is checked.</li>
</ol>
<p dir="auto">You can now try converting the repaired file to MPEG/DVD format.</p>
